Patna Museum, Patna is celebrating the 100th year of its inception. It started functioning formally in 1917 in an annexe of Patna High Court, however, it was informally eastablished in 1915 and the early collections and coins were accommodated in the Commissioner's Bungalow (present A. N. Sinha Institute) at Patna.
The present building of Patna Museum was opened to visitors on March 7, 1929.

2017 is the Centenary Year of this world famous establishment and the Dept. of Art & Culture, Govt. of Bihar is going to mark this ocaation by a three days' celelebration, on April 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2017, in which FACES is collaborating in more than one events.

On April 3, 2017 FACES is producing 'Patna Museum Centenary Anthem' and a Solo Performance based on the origin and evolution of Patna Museum.

On April 4, 2017, the second day of the celebration, we are going to organize an Essay Writng and Recitation competition on 'Patna Museum' for the students of class 9 to 12.

FACES is also staging a play "Yakshini", on April 5, 2017, based on the story of excavation and sculpting of the famous Didarganj Chowry Bearer (the Didarganj Yakshini). 2017 is also the centenary year of retrieval of this world famous magnificent icon at Patna Museum.

Content of the essay should include the history and significance (academic, educational, cultural etc.) of Patna Museum and also personal experiences / feelings of the students while visiting Patna Museum.
